We are delighted that SHIKI Omakase has been awarded 17.5 out of 20 points, four chef’s hats and was also named “New Opening of the Year” by Gault&Millau, placing us among Vienna’s top 10 restaurants. This recognition brings us great joy and strengthens our commitment to sharing Japanese culinary culture at the highest level.
With SHIKI Omakase, owner Joji Hattori has created a distinctive setting that brings together Japanese craftsmanship and Viennese elegance. Just eight guests take their seats at the counter to witness carefully selected ingredients being transformed into a menu. “Omakase” translates as “I leave it to you” — an expression of the trust at the heart of the encounter between guest and chef.
Executive Chef Gerhard Bernhauer and Sushi Master Ruben Garcia shape this experience with precision, expertise and passion. Every cut, texture and composition becomes part of a culinary journey, with dishes prepared directly before the guests’ eyes. The intimate atmosphere invites diners to immerse themselves in the flavours, the craftsmanship and the moment.
Gault&Millau is an internationally established restaurant guide whose points and chef’s hats are among Austria’s best-known culinary distinctions. Four chef’s hats recognise exceptional cooking distinguished by outstanding creativity, quality and preparation.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Gault&Millau for this recognition and to our guests for their trust and enthusiasm. We look forward to sharing many more special culinary moments with you.
