New Restaurants in Vienna in December 2025

At the beginning of December, Krugerstraße becomes the stage for a small culinary drama — in the very best sense: Shiki Omakase opens its doors, bringing to Vienna a style of sushi where you don’t simply eat, but truly marvel. Hidden behind the Shiki Boutique lies a space so small and intimate that you almost expect to have to roll the sushi rice yourself — which wouldn’t be the worst thing under the guidance of a true master of the craft. Eight seats, one chef, absolute precision — that’s all this Japanese ritual needs.

By the way, omakase means: “I leave it up to you.” And here, you do so with pleasure, because the chefs decide what arrives, when it arrives, and at which temperature the rice reaches its perfect form (spoiler: exactly when everyone begins eating together). Every bite is created à la minute before your eyes — craftsmanship, timing, and quiet magic included.

The menu ranges from “classically refined” to “Wagyu-and-caviar — because sometimes you simply treat yourself,” complemented by around 60 sake selections that could make even connoisseurs pause in thought. In short: Shiki Omakase is Vienna’s new address for sushi in its purest form — minimalist, highly focused, and surprisingly emotional.
